On this episode of the Holy Nerdy Podcast, due to our delayed recording schedule we decided to just cut a short episode this week. While looking for something to watch with his family on Disney+, Caleb stumbled upon the Aladdin Live Action Remake, which he had never seen before. So for this week’s sole topic, we will be comparing this new updated version with the beloved original animated one. Spoiler alert: It doesn’t fare so well. The original was such a masterpiece that it is hard to imagine what the studio felt they could improve on, or why Will Smith would even want to try and follow Robin Williams’ iconic performance?

On this episode of the Holy Nerdy Podcast, we just can’t seem to shake the Star Wars talk on this show it seems as this episode again is Star Wars-centric. Before we get to that though, Caleb shares his disappointment in the recent MMA Main Event Fight from Saturday. Hell, we talk about it longer than the actual match lasted. After that we wanted to honor dog enthusiast and 1960’s caped crime fighter Burt Ward, who recently received his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Finally we take a look at and discuss the leaked script of the original Star Wars Episode 9 that was to be directed by Colin Trevorrow before J.J. Abrams took it over.

On this episode of the Holy Nerdy Podcast, we decided to do a look back at the “25 Most Notable Events From The Past Decade” and make a bit of a game out of it. To our dismay and bewilderment, not many "truly significant" things happened in the past ten years and what was considered significant makes us weep for mankind. Consider around 50 years prior we were applauding landing on the moon and now we are applauding an absurdly photoshopped magazine photo shoot or a celebrity group selfie. We kick off our first episode of the new year with a bit of bathroom humor that goes right down the drain. After that Caleb brings up the fact that he recently learned to play Magic: The Gathering on his vacation and now can’t get enough. Finally to cap off the episode, we give our “spoiler review” of the last two season one episodes of “The Mandalorian”, as well as our thoughts on the current state of the “Star Wars Universe” and where we feel they can improve in the future.
